Scientific-practical conference "St. Petersburg Collegial Readings – 2018" on the theme: "Intellectual Property: Theory and Practice"

At the invitation of the St. Petersburg Collegium of Patent Attorneys, the employees of KISTERSKY IP Law participated in the Scientific and Practical Conference “St. Petersburg Collegiate Readings – 2018” – “Intellectual Property: theory and practice”.

Attorneys and patent attorneys from Armenia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Russia participated in the conference.

During the three days the conference participants presented reports about the history and future of the patent system, on patenting computer program algorithms, about controversial situations in the determination of patent infringements, about the commercial significance of patent research for industrial enterprises, about similarities and differences in concepts, a free license and an open license.

Reports were also presented about the international registration of industrial designs and the examination of trademarks affecting practical and theoretical issues of the legal protection of intellectual property for these objects.

Opportunities for communication offered by the organizers served as an excellent platform for establishing new contacts, exchanging views, experiences, and useful practical recommendations on the practice of protecting intellectual property rights in different countries, including both the European practice of protecting intellectual property rights, and the practice of protecting the rights of objects intellectual property, applied in the CIS countries.
The issues raised aroused considerable interest and lively discussions among the participants of the conference, which showed the high relevance of the selected topics. We note the well-chosen composition of the conference speakers and their interest in the development of the intellectual property system in the CIS countries.
In addition to the time allotted for communication within the framework of the regulations, the conference participants had the opportunity to continue communicating with the speakers in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

Our representatives were hard at work establishing new business contacts and catching up with old friends.

With a tight schedule of meetings and working lunches we were introducing and opening our services to the world IP community with great success. INTA organization offered a great, spacious Exhibition Hall to all participants.

Our colleagues from all over the world had an opportunity to display their products and services with great creativity. It was absolutely amazing to be able to see and meet industry giants and newly growing IP businesses in one place.



Our colleagues were invited and attended several evening networking events including Russian, Mexican, Indian, Chinese, American and of course, a Grand finale party at the Seattle Center. We are pleased with the great outcome following our participation in the 2018 INTA convention and invite all current and prospective partners to connect with us in working towards the future of the global IP marketplace.

 

ALL-UKRAINIAN TRADE MARKETOLOGY CONFERENCE «BIG TRADE-MARKETING SHOW. PRACTICE»

At the invitation of “TradeMasterGroup”, employees of “KISTERSKY IP Law” took part in the all-Ukrainian conference of trade markers “BIG TRADE-MARKETING SHOW. PRACTICE ».
Heads of the departments of trade marketing, marketing, marketing specialists, trade markers, brand managers, general directors, owners, directors of sales of production and retail companies, distributors, as well as owners of advertising and marketing agencies of companies from Ukraine and Russia took part in the conference. , Europe and CIS countries.
The participants of the conference held 5 sessions on the development of markets using the legal protection of intellectual property, including reports on the development of trends, the virtual sales system by retailers, the approaches and motivations of sales teams in sales, on working with non-standard methods of promotion and sales of products, as tasting, using festivals and using virtual reality.

In the course of business communication, employees of KISTERSKY IP Law held consultations on the issues of intellectual property rights protection in Ukraine and EU countries.
 

 
The issues touched upon attracted considerable interest among the participants of the conference and at each session the absolutely topical issues of the development of the Ukrainian market were touched upon. New approaches in the field of sales and promotion of services for different companies from Ukraine, Russia, Europe and CIS countries were considered and actively discussed during discussions among the participants of the conference.

In addition to the time allotted for communication within the framework of the regulations, the conference participants had the opportunity to continue communicating with the speakers in a relaxed and informal atmosphere and discuss various issues of the development of the Ukrainian market.

International Conference "The entry into force of the Association Agreement with the EU – Ukraine's readiness and the first results"

The staff of KISTERSKY IP Law took part in the international conference “The entry into force of the Association Agreement with the EU – Ukraine’s readiness and first results”, organized by the Committee of the Ukrainian Bar Association on Intellectual Property in conjunction with the Kyiv National University named after A.Yu. T. Shevchenko and the Research Institute of Intellectual Property of the NAPR of Ukraine.
Attending the conference were lawyers and patent attorneys from Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Austria.
The discussion was the Agreement on Association of Ukraine with the European Union that entered into force on September 1, 2017. The conference was held as a thematic meeting for the settlement and coverage of many aspects related to the Association Agreement with the EU.
 

 
In the first “international” session, the representatives of Georgia and Moldova, where similar agreements with the EU have earned earlier than in Ukraine, acquainted participants with how the relations in the field of IP rights protection in their countries are legally regulated. Dr. Leonhard Rice (Austria) spoke about the common approaches of the EU to the regulation of IP protection.

During the work of the second session, the issues of entry into force of the association agreement with the EU – Ukraine’s readiness – were discussed. The report “Evolution of protection and protection of IP rights in the context of the Association Agreement with the EU” was made by Nikolai Pototsky, the head of the department for the organization of protection of rights and consideration of appeals of the State Enterprise Ukrpatent. Scientific employee of the Institute of International Relations, Chair of Comparative and European Law, Institute of International Relations, KNU T. Shevchenko Irina Berezovskaya in her speech considered the Association Agreement with the EU as the legal basis for the Europeanization of Ukrainian legislation, as well as the economic sections of the Agreement.
